a short stature is something that is quickly noticed about cecilia jane. she is shorter than the average sixteen year old, standing at just five foot one. she has never been taller than anyone else and was often tormented about her height as a kid. cecilia no longer feels insecure about her height and often jokes about it herself. cecilia jane is also naturally slim. though others say it is a blessing, she has always wished that she could put on a little weight, maybe gaining curves or breasts in that process.

as far as wishing goes, cecilia has many of them for changes in her physical appearances. she is a perfectionist and hates when things are slightly off or asymmetrical. the number one thing that cecilia wishes she could change is her hair. cecilia jane, unfortunately, inherited her mother's hair. it is a dark red color, extremely thick, and quite curly. any attempt to straighten it has failed and eventually she gave up on trying to change it. cecilia lets her hair falls down to her collarbone at a decent length but gets fed up with it always falling in her face.

the color of cecilia's red hair does do one good thing for her. that would be that her hair brights out the natural red blush upon her high cheekbones and offers a great contrast to her pale skin. also, cecilia's green-hazel eyes that constantly change colors go well with her hair no matter what color they are at the moment.

it is true that most of cecilia's time is spent in the ravenclaw hogwarts uniform. the rest of the time, cecilia has a uniform of her own. it has always been her personal believe to look the best she can at all times. she dresses respectably in a conservative preppy type of way. she generally wears polos, pencil skirts, sweaters, and dress shoes when going out. muggle clothes are what cecilia chooses to wear most often because of less patterned and elaborate fabrics.

before she happened upon benjamin walter, marietta edgecombe was a stuck up girl who acted as if she had a stick up her ass. she went to work everyday at the book store in diagon alley, look down her nose at the customers, and complained to her friends that she deserved a better job. one night, marietta's friends dragged her to a muggle pub and club in london. the enviornment was new to marietta, being raise in a pureblood wizarding home, but somehow she felt comfortable instantly. it wasn't that different from a wizard's pub. they laughed and drank for an hour before open mic night began. a dashing young english man went up to the microphone first. marietta was dazzled by him instantly. the strange muggle man was a regular at mic night and gave a comedy skit which left marietta laughing like she had never laughed before. marietta found herself drawn towards him, struck up a conversation after his skit, and the two had an instant chemistry.

the two began a romance. benjamin, the charming muggle man, was a young mailman and had lived in london all his life. he brought out a different side in marietta that made her transform completely. she was wild, funny, charming, and sociable. the two dated for months before marietta brought out the truth of her magical abilities. she wore muggle clothes and kept her background a secret before their six months dating. marietta prepared for benjamin to be horrified and run screaming but he didn't. the two were married a year later and were happily married for years before they found out marietta was pregnant.

the first born child was a rambunctious boy who they named richard. he was always on the move and his magical abilities were apparent even at the young age of four. richard was crying loudly during a temper tantrum over ice cream when, unexpectedly, all the windows and the lights in the house went on and off and open and closed. his parents were happy and supportive of his developing magical abilites.

richard was just three when his sister was born. she was named cecilia jane and was born with a full head of hair. she never cried and was a surprisingly easy child to take care of. benjamin and marietta were quietly happy about this. richie was a handful in himself and to have a quiet baby girl was a blessing. as she grew, cecilia became not so quiet. she constantly asked questions, searched for knowledge, and challenged things. her magical abilities were not apparent and for just several months before her acceptance letter from hogwarts, her parents wondered if she had not inherited magical abilities. the acceptance letter implied she must have them. they were apparent once she got to school.

cecilia jane knew she was blessed with a good family but this fact was reinforced once she got to hogwarts. she came in contact with people whose family had always put pressure on them to be greatly powerful with magical abilities, to only have pureblood friends, or to believe everything their families believed. also, cecilia's family was blessed with being full of love. this was void in other households.

hogwarts was a scary place for the first few years cecilia was there. she put pressure on herself to do perfectly and wanted everything right. she wanted 100% on everything. by her third year, she was falling apart by the seams. richard showed cecilia the light. he taught her to let loose. he brought her out to hogsmeade and had her steal several pieces of candy and drink just a sip of alcohol. these things, as wrong as they felt to cecilia, made her feel better in some way. so did the extra attention from her brother. from that day on, cecilia took the time to do something naughty every now and then in secret.

cecilia was born with a problem. she was always a perfectionist. her first clear memory is of her yelling at her brother for rearranging her lincoln logs in the wrong order. this innate perfectionist attitude is one of the more obvious features that got her into ravenclaw, along with her determination, intelligence, and wit. this perfectionist attitude is also quite a drawback at times. when cecilia was thirteen, anxiety started to be a problem with her. she would have panic attacks before quizzes and essays due, especially for her ancient runes class. the solution to this problem: a little help from her brother. cecilia's brother has taught her to counterbalance her perfectionism every now and then, taking time to let loose and do something a little wild. so while cecilia may act like she has a stick up her ass at times, the girl does know how to let loose.

a great sense of humor and grasp of irony and sarcasm were passed down from benjamin walter to his children. while her brother got the bulk of his muggle father's humor gene, cecilia got a good amount of it. she makes witty jokes as much as possible another one of her ways to "let loose." she will never make a joke at someone else's expense and tries never to insult anyone. she loves comedy and believe it should leave people feeling better.

cecilia is quite chatty for a ravenclaw. she is sociable but has a hard time keeping friends. she picks arguments and is stubborn as well as emotional. her best friend is her brother who she visits as much as possible at hogsmeade. she is hesitant when it comes to love, fearing she will repulse someone or be rejected, but she wants the same love she sees in her parents.

the wait continued on dully and tensely until susan saw a blond, bombshell walking towards her. the girl was pretty but not quite gorgeous. she was one, like many girls susan knew, who was harboring a secret. it was obvious in every fiber of her. susan being alone and bored made the girl more intruiging than she most likely was. susan watched the girl walk towards the table but expected the girl to turn away at the last moment. the young lady was as dressed up as she was with on margarita in each hand. susan expected the blond to turn at the last minute but when she didn't a smirk stretched across her face. susan didn't stop the girl from sliding into the seat across from her. she listened carefully and nodded as the young lady around her age explained that she was alone as well and wanted some company. she offered the drink as a peace offering, which despite being illegal to drink, susan took. the drink was sweet and the salt sprinkled on the glass's rim was the best part. susan drank the margarita before even saying anything back to the young lady, and kept a smirk on her face. "do i truly look that lonely over here? i knew people were staring." she nervously grabbed her pearls and damned her brother to hell for ditching her. "i don't mind chatting, especially considering your peace offering here," susan lifted up the drink towards the girl in appreciation and took another drink. she drank often and hard when she did but margaritas weren't quite her thing. she was a southern comfort or vodka kind of girl. "also, due to the fact my douchebag brother is probably out ditching me for some gorgeous brunette." a look around the restaurant revealed that no one was looking towards susan's table now that it was filled with another person. the waiter came back to the table with the artichoke appetizer and susan smiled and thanked the waiter. she grabbed a tortilla chip, dipped it in the thick, gooey dip, and ate the chip messily. she may be dressed like a lady but she acted like a hellion tomboy. "help yourself." susan said with a charming smile. susan looked at the blond girl for just another moment before realizing she had not introduced herself correctly yet. "sorry, you must think i was raised in a barn. i'm susan ashburn." susan extended her hand across the table and held it there waiting for the young women to introduce herself and take her hand.
