Name: Lily Potter Age: 15 Grade: Fifth Why are you interested in Choir?: Because I love music and singing and I feel calm and relaxed doing it, It's something I love doing and I believe that it's taking me to another level somehow. PLus the knowledge and experiences I gain are important for me and my life outside and after hogwarts RP of choir auditions: Lily was in the library studying for an assignment she had. She had skipped lunch, in order not to waist any valuable time. She had the choir audition after lunch nad she had no idea how long that would take... She was a dulcissima until now but she had the potential to be a madrigal. She knew it, she was just afraid to try. Lily looked at her watch and swore under her breath. She quickly stood up and picked her books, and rushed out of the library basicall running
She made her way towards the halls and stairs of the school, not even caring to stop or glance at the people that swore or called her name as she ran. She went downstairs and entered the Great Hall where the auditions were held quickly. She left her books at one of the tables and quickly made her way at the front where everyone were standing Sorry I'm late! she apologized out of breath Miss Potter! How nice of you to join us!
[/i] she heard the professor saying with a slight tone of sarcasm in his voice. Lily had to suppress the need to roll her eyes. She just looked down holding her hands laced together. Will you pleae step at the front?[/i] she heard him saying once again. She looked up to see him and she nodded yes with her head nervously She took a few steps forward, so she was in front of everyone and she stood in attention. And what is your choice of song?[/i] the professor asked Ave Verum Corpus... By Mozart[/i] she said quietly. She spent hours trying to find what she was going to perform, since she was betwen two. Lily of the Valley, since it had her name in itand it was really nice and the one she chose... She chose Mozart at the end, since it was more classical and she kind of liked it more. She thought it was more appropriate and that she could show her vocal skills better. So she spent hours in her room AND the Room of Requirements practicing it. She just hoped that she wouldn't mess it up. She heard the music starting and she put both her hands where her diaphragm was situated so she could control her voice easier, her legs still together. The introduction was coming to an end and Lily took a deep breath before she started singing, giving her best self: Ave verum Corpus natum de Maria Virgine: Vere passum, immolatum in Cruce pro homine.
Cuius latus perforatum fluxit aqua et sanguine: Esto nobis praegustatum mortis in examine.
O Iesu dulcis! O Iesu pie! O Iesu fili Mariae. When the song was over Lily let a small sigh of relief. It was all over. Whatever happened from now on was someone else's responsibility. She took another breath and she stepped back letting the next one take her place[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] ooc: I really like this and this versions! ;D

OOC- I like William Byrd's Ave Verum Corpus the best. Although, there is a monophonic setting of the text by DuFay that I really enjoy. The text itself is amazing. (I have a degree in vocal performance and am three semesters away from graduating with my second degree in General Music )
Name:Neo Shain Age: 16 Year: sixth Why are you interested in Choir?: The muggle Hans Christian Anderson said, "Where words fail, music speaks." I believe these words wholeheartedly and feel that my years of training will bring a valuable resource to the Choir. RP of choir auditions:
Neo smiled as he walked into the audition room, waiting for his accompanist to take seat at the piano. Placing his feet approximately shoulder width apart, and holding his chest out, while relaxing his neck, throat a jaw, he spoke clearly and with a raised pallet, "I will performing O del mio dolce ardor by Gluck. Medium Voice."
With those words, all worries faded from Neo's mind. His entire body settled into a well rehearsed set of motions. Gone were the thoughts of cancer, death, and struggle. The only thing that was, was music. The pianist began the lilting introduction in d minor, and as Neo began to sing, he thought about the words, putting everything into the words, and the music. The object of his sweet ardor was all he could think of. As the music itself, masterfully painted by Gluck, began to swell to the final climax, Neo's mind soared free with the joy of release. As he began the cadenza, the world slowly began to come into focus again. Finishing the song, he began to remember those things which plagued his every thought. Refusing to let it show, he bowed from the hip and acknowledged his accompanist, then waited for further instructions from the faculty.
